Fall has Arrived
While visiting the Monongahela National Forest back east, the sun had just begun to rise from the horizon at Pendleton Point Lookout located in the Blackwater Falls State Park. I became aware at that moment fall was arriving very soon

Fall Colors of Hills Creek - Monongahela National Forest
The Hills Creek canyon is the crown jewel of the Monongahela
National Forest and is located along the Highlands Scenic
Highway. Hills Creek Canyon is also the home of Hills Creek Falls and the Falls of Hill Creek Scenic Area which is a 114 acre area containing three waterfalls - 25 feet. 45 feet and 63 feet. On this afternoon the sun was back lighting the leaves, enhancing the fall colors creating a beautiful kaleidoscope.
The Falls of Hills Creek - Monongahela National Forest
It is a beautifu drive through the Monongahela National Forest, a highway known as the Appalachain Waters Scenic Byway and also by a shorter route called the Highlands Scenic Highway. One of the highlands on this route is the crown jewel of the Monongahela National Forest, the Falls of Hills Creek. Rated ss one the cleanest streams in West Virginia, Hills Creek drops over a series of three waterfalls - 25 feet, 45 feet, and 63 feet. The lower falls, at 63 feet is the second highest waterfall in West Virginia. Noted as a three-quarter mile hike to the lower
falls, the beauty of the forest, the splendid waterfall views and the scenic beauty ofl Hills Creek will make this seem like a much shorter hike.
